The ERATO Project on Nanostructuring of Liquid Crystals, Tskuba, Japan gained a UK science adviser in the shape of Professor Goodby. Professor Goodby is seen here discussing the latest research results with Professor Yokohama and Dr Nishiyama at the Tskuba research centre. The research programmes included the development of new applications of liquids crystals and the investigations of the structures formed by more complex, supermolecular systems.
